| A couple of things - Kath the link didn't seem to work. Watermans - moving it to a smaller site I'm not sure - isn't there talk of closing the Paul Robeson Theatre - are there any theatres in Hounslow apart from Watermans now? As for the development - agree about the terraced house - do we really want another Kingston Town Centre - the waterfront dominated by ugly flats (we are well on the way to having Brentford becoming a mixed tenure version of a student campus - all flats as it is). Over in Mortlake, by the Budweiser brewery, they have managed to build new house that reflect some of the character of the victorian house style. I can only wonder why that can be achieved in Mortlake when, with the conservation areas of Brentford, a similar nod to sympathetic design is seen as a step too far for Brentford... unless it is only a 'nod' to warehouses and narrow street design? |
