I must say I was impressed with the photo from the 1948 games that appeared last month of a solo runner going through a village bearing the torch preceded by a single AA motorbike/side-car.

I guess the arrangements for this year's route will be rather more costly - and I'm still a bit dismayed that they aren't running the bit from Lampton to Hillingdon (I suppose they have to activate the coke at the right time and they need to tuck the torch up in bed with Holiday Inn honchos at Denham.)
