| The ‘Trickle down effect’ is now questioned by economists, more likely replaced by the ‘trickle up effect’ as the wealthy accumulate more. This they’re more likely to hoard and save rather then spend, while the less well off spend a greater proportion of their income and so stimulate economic growth through the ‘multiplier effect’. ‘If you pay people benefits they’ll only spend it!’ That’s the point! |
