Yes, Chris – easily the worst chancellor in memory – fortunately she won't be in the job very much longer – but will likely be replaced by someone even worse! It seemed pretty obvious that raising NI in the last budget would increase unemployment, raise inflation, suppress growth and raise borrowing – all of which have happened. So they want to take more from us this time, and will continue to do so for each budget until the end of their term, as they refuse to tackle rampant public spending. Equally worrying is who will take over from Starmer when he gets forced out – I foresee a lurch to the left and a continuation of the tax-and-spend policies used by all past Labour governments – it’s all they know.
