There’s form for this sort of incompetent meddling with road layouts. Boston Road, right outside the Tube station is a prime example. A huge swerve in the carriageway on the brow of the hill, all to accommodate a cycle crossing very few use. Drivers of all types of vehicles simply cannot see what’s on the other side of the rise. Of course, should an accident occur on one of these sites the pro cycling lobby will instantaneously point the finger at the drivers, rather than the poor - and avoidable - road design. |
