| Hounslow have of course consulted with emergency services (it is a statutory requirement as well as obviously the right thing to do) and where requested have modified schemes. As far as I'm aware we are not using lockable bollards on any scheme. There was in most cases no consultation before implementation because councils were responding to a government directive to implement these schemes 'within weeks' to discourage unnecessary car use after lockdown restrictions ease. They are all temporary in nature and subject to review and consultation after implementation. If you disagree you might want to write to Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP who issued the directive. LB Hounslow are inviting comment on https://haveyoursay.hounslow.gov.uk/traffic-and-transport/streetspace-feedback/ and it might be more productive to feed back via that route. |
