| Of course nobody wants any more delay to emergency services than necessary, but having said that, I'm surprised at the estimated 20 and 30 minute delays mentioned in this account. Even if the emergency services arrived at the 'wrong side' of the barrier in Leighton Road, I doubt if it would take them that long to drive whichever way round to get to the other side. Similarly, once the services have these closures programmed in to whatever navigation system they use, they should be more able to turn up in the right place without too much delay. If they can't, then the schemes need looking at again. |
