We applied for a blue badge for an elderly relative a few years back and nearly everyone I told about it thought that (nod nod wink wink) it was acceptable, or expected that it would be used by us as some sort of perk. We never abused it, but it was very strange that the badge was thought of in this way. To obtain a badge you really have to have disabilities so it is a terrible shame if the spaces are all taken up by false users. Wonder if the fines could be adjusted to make it more self financing? ...rather than crush the car, sell it and keep the money? |
