It all depends on on how the badge was obtained. Some are stolen from cars and sold on and used for free parking near to were they work until they expire. I think the worst one of all, is when someone uses a recently deceased person badge, they dont hand it back and continue using the BB. The people who end up being caught are members of the disabled person family, who think they can drive up to the high road and use the badge to park as they are getting something for the disabled person, which they cant. Some local authority are clamping down very hard on the misuse of disabled badges, but some authority rules are the reason the get stolen. They insist that when parked in a council provided disabled bay over night a badge must be displayed, this is just the thing that the Disable badge rules warn about, you are just asking to get the badge Stolen. |
