| ICG was compromised in Hounslow by supporting the Conservative administration for 4 years in the same way as the LibDems are being compromised nationally by the coalition with the Conservatives. Both from time to time have modified the policies of their partners. The LibDems in Hounslow - there were LibDem councillors for many years - remained independent and modified decisions from time to time with constructive criticism. My fear is that by the time anyone is able to stand as an independent spokesperson ie in 2 years time,decisions will have long been taken and contracts signed. |
