Could not agree more. Councillors and MP's often go silent when they know something is fundamentally wrong. The political system here then leaves them vulnerable to the whips and bullies and the wrath of the party (whichever one as they are all the same) should they decide to make a stand. That is why they only tackle the easy stuff thats do-able. But as you say very telling indeed. As for Watermans, well the building was poorly designed (another legacy of Hounslows utilitarian ineptness) But is all the same the only jewel in Brentford. I would like to see the site massively improved. But they are deluded if they think the current revival of the place will carry over to a new location. It won't. If it leaves Brentford (or the riverside) it will be dead and gone within a few years. It's patronage will not go with it. |
