Which only leaves it for us to ask why, then, closure was proposed in the first place?

It is not as though any of these itemised factors was a new discovery, hitherto unknown to the council before the consultation.

And why did the officers, and for that matter his fellow members who were present at the Budget meeting in 2010, forget to mention to the Lead Member the small matter of the £250k that was allocated for the required repair work?

We have, eventually, received the answers.  Now we need to start asking the more fundamental questions.
