| 'Vanessa's view' is that I just wish as much emphasis and scorn and harassment was poured on the heads of those who avoid paying tax, that costs the country one hell of a lot more than benefits paid out. Unfortunately we have HMRC officals doing 'sweetheart deals' with big companies and letting them off to squirrel money away in tax havens abroad, all with the government's blessing seemingly. It suits the current government's ideaology to scapegoat benefit claimants so the public eye is off the ball so to speak. Teresa May's burbling is about how the courts allow people convicted of very serious crimes in their home countries use the 'Right to family life' to fight deportation, this may well be a matter of interpretation by our courts, but we have an independent judiciary - who I am sure - will fight any attempt to interfere with their judgements. |
