| I disagreed with Thatcher at the time and still disagree with this policy. If you sell a house to a tenant at a discount that reduces the price to less than the building cost how can you replace this with a new build without spending public money (our taxes) to subsidise the new build? If the public finances are as bad as Osborne says they are this policy can only be interpreted as a bribe to buy votes in the next election. |
