| The Keens locally known as Mr and Mrs Expenses have for years lived the high life and charged the cost to the Taxpayers and constantly refused to attend any public meeting or indeed Surgery despite many requests to explain how they can possibly need a luxury apartment just nine miles where they supposedly live in Brentford It is well known here in Hounslow that the Keens rarely if ever spend any nights at their Brentford property and instead allegedly allow a family member to occupy the premises as well as work full time for Mr Keen Both promised on the night they were re-elected in 2005 to give the full details of their expenses when I challenged them and yet and until the FOI enabled their enormous claims to come to light they have constantly avoided doing so and disappear for long periods of time until they believe the dust has settled when the matter is raised. As representatives of a once great and proud Labour Party they have let down and deceived all those who voted for them by preferring to stick their noses in the trough rather then fight for the interests of the residents in Hounslow and have over the years become more and more remote from the ordinary man and woman in the street. The local Labour Party here in Hounslow rarely if ever defend the Keens actions and instead endorse the actions of a couple of activists from a neighbouring Borough to smear the other candidates against them which stinks of desperation It is not just the Keens of course who are embroiled in this scandal and it is sad that all our Members of Parliament still cannot grasp how much disdain their is for their deeds but at least some are now apologising and attempting to put their house in order which is far more then the Keens are willing to do |
