| It's by far one on outer London's best bus Routes. I do remember the Routemasters and the premier league of Conductors, male and female who were absolute characters and made the difference. ( the conductors on the 117 and later the 237 were a right surly lot - always working to rule. There is a stunning picture in the Brook Pub of a 65 going over bridge in Ealing road with that other icon the Brentford Floodlights in the background. There with friends last week and we all kept gazing at it. The Run to Chessington Zoo was great but the 71 took over the 65 section to Leatherhead. Same buses but what a ride down from Malden Russet to Leatherhead 55mph and the windows down was better than any fairground ride! |
