Big item on vocational exam results on BBC this morning. What is needed are proper indentured apprenticeships with a recognised certification at the end, not pathetic training courses that last a couple of months and are labelled as being 'an apprenticeship'. After all whoever believed you needed an apprenticeship to learn how to be a road sweeper or shop assistant but that's what some of these companies have tried saying. We will always need proper tradespeople who are practical and skilled - we have though got fixated over this everyone must go to university con. |
