| Saw the way the garden waste is collected to day - one man walks along with a list presumably with the houses that have paid, calling out the relevant house numbers to the collectors. Now call me daft but just over the road in Richmond they have a far more sensible way of doing this. Each year you pay, you get a coloured sticker to go on your bin, a different colour denoting each year. Can't tell you how many people here have paid but have had the devil's own job of getting the crew to take their garden waste. 'Not on the list' seems to be the standard reply with long e-mails/'phone calls ensuing to sort this out. Can't be long before we get told 'computer says no'. Hounslow seem to delight in making simple things overly complicated, speaks volumes about our political masters. |
