| We come 12th in the international recycling league. Do you remember the fridge mountain. We had to send some of them to Germany because we could not understand the EU regulations after two years. However other EU countries did understand them ok. In the end it cost our goverment £40 million pounds. I was visiting Paris and was shocked to see the dustmen emptying bins in flats 7 times a week? Both recycling and ordinary waste. Put all recycling in one bin and have staff at the depot sorting different plastics metals etc or invest in new sophisticed machines to sort it. Once you have people wondering what plastic is this where does that go you have lost it. I looked on the bottom of my wheelie bin and what did I see? MADE IN GERMANY. That says it all. |
