| Revenue Vanessa, simple as that, I've dealt (both for and against) with advertising along this corridor for years and the sums are huge. Indeed recently I (and the other people within my client's professional Team) were appearing at an appeal supporting the Council's refusal of large digital media screens on the M4 facing elevations of a building that isn't even built yet (and was granted permission on the basis of the building's iconic design which the appellants originally claimed would "sell" the building to prospective tenants, only for them to then apply several months later for these adverts on the basis that prospective tenants wanted to advertise their products), and last week the Inspector dismissed that appeal on the grounds that the adverts would harm the iconic design of the approved building. That went completely under the radar of everyone however, apart from WCGS who appeared at the hearing and ourselves. |
