Best way home for me currently is the A316 beyond Chalkers Corner, over the river then along Hartington Road and Thames Road, and then straight across 'suicide junction' (as my Mrs. calls it) at the bottom of Kew Bridge. Adds 2 miles to my journey, but avoids all the stupid traffic light programming problems and resulting queues. Walking home from Gunnersbury Park last night I noted the lights at the junction of Lionel Road North and the A4 are stupidly programmed as though Lionel Road North is a 6 lane major route and the A4 is a farm track. Utter madness and how I wish Jacques Rogge (President of the IOC) when closing the Olympics would say "These Games would have been the best ever Summer Games, but the stupidity and madness of TfL in failing to grasp the simple reality that summer means less traffic and thus no traffic light sequences needed to be altered means I can't award that accolade...". |
