Thanks for the exhaustive clarification. Here's why I think my statements were reasonable summaries. 4) No-one actually bothering to check the new plans which can be viewed on line (plans that are not yet approved, merely proposals). Fair challenge - there is only inference to go by. But as the thread started with the theme of 18 story flats (that would be the design which failed to get planning approval) and there was not a single statement defining the new proposed designs, my statement seems to be a reasonable summary. The closest reference to the new proposals was one statement about not remembering the height - so not really evidence of checking the new designs in any detail. 6) somewhat malevolent anticipation that those in the new development opposite commerce road will be the one's who suffer most from there being tall buildings on the commerce rd site (I think the theme here being 'serves them right') Quote “As the sun passes westwards, the lower floor flats on the Island might become a bit gloomy!” There were multiple references in the thread about the residents of new developments - and not exactly positive ones. So with the quote that highlighted the negative impact of one new development onto another, it is not unreasonable to assume there is a degree of schadenfreude going on here. I trust this is sufficient justification for both points. |
