I'm not certain I understand all the comments made on this thread. So far there seems to have a few themes: 1) dislike of the (original and rejected) plans for 15 storey flats on the commerce road site 2) dislike of people who are new to Brentford and are therefore clearly only living here as an investment (oh, and disappear for the weekend anyway) 3) dislike of the run down nature of Brentford - and nostalgia for some vague idea of a better place decades ago 4) no-one actually bothering to check the new plans which can be viewed on line (plans that are not yet approved, merely proposals) 5) no-one posting seems to have bothered to go to the open evenings with the designers (held a few months ago in Grounds and the Holiday Inn) 6) somewhat malevolent anticipation that those in the new development opposite commerce road will be the one's who suffer most from there being tall buildings on the commerce rd site (I think the theme here being 'serves them right') Have I missed anything? |
