Steve - It is a mystery what "power struggle" you are suggesting I'm involved in.  The easy and convenient party political option would have been for me to vote against this application.  However planning committees (SDC) - as I have pointed out previously on this forum - should be making their decisions on planning law and not party political agendas.  What we lacked at Sustainable Development Committee were solid planning grounds being offered up for why the application should have been turned down.  It was made clear to Councillors on the night that the expansion plans will not result in increased odour. As I have said before on this forum, planning law does not empower communities/ truely sustainable development sufficiently. I fully appreciate the community has many issues that need to be addressed by Thames Water, but they must now be pursued hard and fast through other routes. Andrew
