| Gosh ..that's a massive development underway on the Great West Road..opposite Carville Hall Park..isn't it? Beechams left some times ago..and so did that branch of the Midland Bank on the corner. Some will even remember when the main building..Wallace House...was occupied by the British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC). Together with new buildings going up in Harlequin Avenue for Sky TV, the completion of the Thames Valley University site at Boston Manor Road, and more in the pipeline 'across the road from Wallis House'..it seems that 'north of the High Street' is still all go go go. Some illustrations of the new Great West Quarter development appeared in The Times on Friday..and on GWQ's website.See the next message. So perhaps the Golden Mile is being revived?? |
