| Looking back from 2017 they were good times. Over the pub at least once a week. If someone left often an extension was granted for the pub. Sometimes until one thirty, so 1215 until 1.30pm solid drinking. Brentford pie and mash shop if you got fed up with the subsidised restaurant on the 11th floor. Must not forget the meal pass for the under seventeens. Pop over to Boston Manor park for a spot of putting if it was nice weather. In the office many teenagers together good friends including Dick Galley. I remember the prolific words of a girl I sat next to in 1968. We had been down the pub, and in the evening around 0730pm (we were on overtime) she turned to me saying, "how long can this go on Nick?" |
