I worked at Turriff House in 1962 as an F Grade Clerk in BOAC Freight Revenue on the 6th Floor facing the Gt West Road, Brentford. The boss was a quiet chap a Mr Tarbutt and the Supervising Clerk, a bolshy Grade M1, was Cyril Billingham who was in charge of the floor with his side kick Mr Palmer Grade A who always reminded me of what Satan the devil might look like in a suit , briefcase, umbrella and a copy of the times. I stuck the office bitching for 4 months and as I was still 16 just (almost 17) I was lucky enough to secure an apprenticeship with Taylor Woodrow before I hit 17. No regrets about working for BOAC good work experience and exposure to jealousy, discontent, terminal boredom, spite and raw ambition at any cost; BOAC thrived on this office ambience. Regards.
