| Many of us are well aware of the issues with the 235 service over the years. The ongoing argument that it is a long route and therefore needs facilities for drivers to take a comfort break if needed, is also a weak one. For at least a couple of years the 235 has had many buses en-route to GWQ that get turned around at Busch Corner/Syon Lane. They then sit facing Busch Corner junction along the road just past the Coach and Horses, which happens to be blocking the cycle lane and is on either a double yellow line or single yellow (no parking from 8am -6.30 pm). Apart from breaking the law in relation to the highway code, there are no facilities for a comfort break. All that is ignoring the fact that the driver rarely if ever tells passengers this is going to happen. So if you get on at Hounslow and the bus header states'North Brentford Quarter' (i've no idea why they call it that either) it's more than a touch annoying when you get to Busch Corner and the driver tells everyone it's the last stop and everyone has to get off. They will say it's done in order to regulate the service but it happens far to often to be that and at times when the 235 aren't suddenly arriving within a few minutes of each other. |
