| I answered this question during the election. But for the avoidance of doubt this is where I would start. Fountain leisure centre redevelopment scrapped amount already committed to by LBH 4,353 million Freedom Pass Scrapped 9.61 million PFI imitative with Hounslow Highways 650 million over 25 years Scrapped as there is no discernible improvement in state of the boroughs footpaths or highways Borough magazine Hounslow Matters 70K plus scrapped Translating council documents into 100 plus languages 208k scrapped. This is where I would start but cuts and savings would have to be made across all services. That's the reality but of course our council does not live in the real world after all it's only running a deficit of 1.6 billion. The fact is neither this Labour council or Government can continue to lend huge amounts of money simply to get voted in. The truth is we are heading for disaster and rather than tell the truth they lie. |
