We had terrible problems when I started as a councillor because (we thought) the bollards were sabotaged by people who didn't want the bus there. We did a lot of lobbying with TfL. Agreed that they would never have more than 2 buses on GWQ (previously they had 4 or 5). They agreed to replace the buses with either elec or diesel ones that were newer, cleaner and didn't drop oil. We also looked for other possibilities. I suggestedthey should go along the A4 to Clayponds and turn there but TfL said it was too dangerous (nonsense IMO). Mel suggested they should carry on to Ealing Broadway. The issue with that was that we were told the 235 route was the longest on the network and was not possible given the need for drivers to have a comfort break. As someone said, the bollards problem looks to have been resolved by the bollards being permanently down. I don't know what other problems there are that is causing unreliability. For a while the top of Ealing road was closed for Cadent (I think) works but that was months ago. To be honest, I used to have loads of complaints but I have had very few in the last year or two. Perhaps the Brentford E councillors are getting the flak. Will try and get some facts from TfL/LBH traffic and see we can find out what the problem is. |
