The GSK building is just 22 years old. It would be environmental vandalism to demolish it. It should be retained and re-purposed. If the 4,000 new residents is to be believed - just how many Brentford residents would want another 4,000 residents? If a few 1,000 'Council' homes for rent were to be created in the repurposed building then this would meet a major housing need. Finally it is intriguing that GSK moved out after 22 years. Is there a problem or problems with the building? Why no rumours of a Google/Microsoft/Apple/META/nVidia/etc being interested in the building. Rail links to central London are good and Heathrow is very close by road and tube. |
