I live on a road off Windmill road south of the A4. Today I received a letter from Connect Plus Services "working on behalf of" National Highways. This confirmed Guy's posting - "... we're currently completing our final safety checks at the Windmill Road junction so that the vehicle crossing and adjacent pedestrian crossing are safely reopened by Saturday 9 December 2023. We'll continue to work closely with Hounslow Highways and Transport for London to understand a suitable time to complete any rememdial work that's required there at a later date." Earlier in the letter they write "Unfortunately we've found some quality issues with some of the new concrete during recent quality inspection. This issue affects a quarter of the piers that are being repaired and we're carrying out thorough investigations and test to understand the root cause of the problem. Regrettably, the time needed to investigate the cause of the issue and carry out remedial work will extend our completion date beyond December 2023." So unfortunately it sounds like the re-opening of the junction may be for a limited period. |
