So why are both local authorities continuing to give the green light approval for other works which are exacerbating the situation? You could have easily reopened Swyncombe Avenue for at least the duration as you knew what was coming. But chose instead to cynically bring forward works to make it far harder. Even at the expense of the emergency services. That is hardly working hard for the local people, quite the opposite. You could have insisted that TfL place a Yellow Box at Boston Manor Road to prevent the endless blocking by Eastbound traffic, and suspend the blind box entry at Windmill Road which is there to reduce cross blockages, not left turning at a blind junction ( mainly from works paraphernalia. None of this has been addressed. Nor is there any lighting at crossing points..Still. Certainly Cllr Lambert has responded and has got nowhere, but why no response from those in Transport? At the very, very least local residents in both Ealing and Brentford and Kew should have a communication from the authorities concerned about the debacle and a full explanation of 4 second traffic lights at 8pm on Sundays causing tailbacks and idling cars. Unpassable road narrowing for HGVs and buses, extreme delays on bus services, the stance of unregulated diesel plant running day and night along the A4 and the general chaos. Everyone is owed an explanation and an apology and what they are going to do to mitigate and remedy this utter shambles. |
