Our town square is solidly inside the much loved Butts Conservation Area and hosts markets, the diners spilling out from Rosetta, Verdict's sunny terrace and the wonderful recent Canal Festival. But that has not stopped Vodafone putting in an outrageous planning application to put a 5G phone mast on our town square, taller than the clock tower and nearly as high as five double deckers stacked on top of each other. Incredible! Our local councillors all seem to be against it and Jim Storrar from Brentford Voice has put in a professional set of reasons why it should be rejected. I've also registered my objections. The more people who lodge their opinion the better. The Hounslow planning system ref is PA/2022/1952. Search for that and please leave your comments. I circulated my two page objections paper widely, including to local businesses round the square, now fired up to oppose it, and you can read or download it at https://chericbaker.co.uk/phonemast/mast.pdf I'll leave it there until the application is rejected. But where will they try it on next? Coming out of the sundial by the canal locks? An extension to St Lawrence Church? Have they no sense of shame or even pleasing communities who cannot help but live in their (fairly low level) radiation washing through them? How dare they try to despoil a conservation area? |
