| I think that two things have become clear in recent months. With Fuel costs exceeding some peoples earnings yet still having to use a vehicle to get to work or be able to work. And those who are solvent enough to still use oversized cars in urban district that are not used for work means. There is a street in South Ealing packed out with huge cars that are wider than the parking bay markings. Some are electric but have cables trying the pavements. But most are status symbols. Unless it's a genuine working vehicle, if it does not fit the space it should have a huge levy on the permit charge. A small car is perfect for a city runabout but with one reservation. They should be as versatile as possible and that fault lies with the manufacturers and their marketing. Still pushing lifestyle and image and gadgets. |
