| Aaaand... here come the Luddites and naysayers. First, the 2030 cut-off is only sales, it won't take existing vehicles off the road. Second, you'll still be able to buy a new fossil-fuelled vehicle until 2035 - as long as it is hybrid. Third, EVs have the potential to last longer and require less maintenance, because they have fewer moving parts and they don't rely on 10,000 small explosions every minute.
