| Why on earth would you suggest such a thing? The greatest number of road deaths are caused by cars, vans and lorries. Pedestrians are being frightened and pushed off the pavements by the numbers of cyclists who are afraid to ride on the road. Many adults themselves cycled as children to school but now with the increase in motor transport are afraid to allow their children to do this. Children who are constantly ferried to school by car instead of walking or being cycled fail to learn the road sense that those that do learn. We still find that there are people who are speeding when there are 20mph MAX LIMITS on lots of roads. This is because there is a big increase in deaths and injuries the higher the speed the motor vehicle is travelling at. |
