Councillor Shaheen has acted promptly on this and has received an answer from the IT people at LBH. According to IT, my messages are being rejected by the borough's servers as they are mistakenly being identified as "phishing" emails. I have a problem with this explanation. None of the subject headings which I used could have been said to have been in any way spammy, and yet e-mails to various recipients and departments are all apparently being rejected. This inevitably means one of two things. Either it is specifically e-mails from myself which are being rejected (ie I have been personally targetted), or as Raymond suggests it could be a wider issue affecting a larger number of people attempting to get through to report issues. If the latter, this should be a matter of concern to all councillors and officers of the council, for obvious reasons. For this reason I have asked Councillor Shaheen to kindly look into this further, and I will report back on any findings as they are obviously of potential concern to anyone who has cause to communicate with the local authority. |
