| Go Ape is a for-profit company that would occupy a substantial central section of Gunnersbury Park on a 25 year lease. It would encroach on the heritage parkland area, with high wire activities in this beautifully landscaped, peaceful oasis. At a cost of around £92 for one adult and 2 children, it is frankly laughable that Hounslow Council claims it will increase health & well-being in the borough. At least be honest that this is purely about raising income. And there are ways to do this with less environmental impact and more genuine concern for public health and well-being. Hounslow Council put out misleading information to suggest that Go Ape is definite. It is not - the decision will be made later in the year. Anyone who cares about our precious public green spaces should make their views known now. |
