The proposal to grant a 125-year lease of land belonging to Isleworth Public Hall to a local school, due to be enacted by Councillor Steve Curran as a Single Member Decision according to the LBH Forward Plan, has been mysteriously dropped from the Cabinet agenda, but no explanation has been given to the Friends of Isleworth Public Hall nor indeed to any other members of the community. Even when one of the Friends wrote to Councillor Curran in December asking for an update no suggestion of this rather significant development was forthcoming. Sources at the Civic Centre inform me that the whole business is being conducted behind the scenes, as is local Labour's wont, in a rather guilty and furtive manner. What is going on? I wonder whether the Isleworth councillors would be prepared to enlighten us? It would be most inspiring to know they were with the local community on this (sarcasm alert). |
