| Can I help clarify this item? LBH properly published this item in their Forward Plan and subsequently published a Single Member Decision (SMD) to implement. It was a comprehensive document which, amongst other things, set out the commercial terms of a new 125 year lease to be granted. These documents are signed by the Lead member after 5 days from publication. I challenged this document with a view to calling it in for a review as I was concerned about the commercial terms and the unexplained need for such a long lease. I was subsequently advised by LBH that the SMD was to be withdrawn to enable a fresh review and ensure compliance with Charity Law. I found no evidence of 'behind the scenes' activity. The response from LBH was appropriate to effective Member Scrutiny Challenge/Governance. Regards John |
