My understanding, as advised by LBH legal department in a memorandum dated 2 February 1995 is that a lease for "ancillary play space" for 20 years from 16 October 1986 was granted to the Trustees of the Isleworth Blue School and that the rent then currently payable was £200 per annum. This lease provided "for the Council to be entitled to terminate at any time during the term for the purpose of redeveloping, change of use for its own purposes, upon giving the Trustees not more than one year or less than six months written notice thereof". There was no information with the documentation as to whether the Charity Commissioners' consent was requested to the grant of the Lease. Terry Welsh of LBH legal department subsequently advised that a further 20 year lease for the land was granted to the Blue School in December 2007 so why the need to push for such a large extension to the current terms? |
