The low pressure problem in the area has been getting steadily worse for years, even before the burst main problem in the London Road In my opinion this is almost entirely due to the mass of new developments in the area, plus we aready know the the pressure was lowered some years ago in order to protect the ageing pipes. I first complained to Thames water some 5 years ago, at first they were very helpful and carried out a number of tests and finally blamed my plumbing which is over 60 years old. Finally when I said that I was going to consult Ofwat they refused to be in contact again, saying the minimum pressure that they had to supply was 0.75 bars when everyone knows the minmum pressure to operate an electric shower is 1 bar. For years now my problem has been not to be able to shower between 7am and 8 am Mon -Frid only, this problem ceases when the children are on their holidays and the demand is lower at that time of the day. TW dont want to know really. |
