| Well it's nothing new. The first thing that needs to be done is elect a council and councillors that will stand up for residents and fully resist any more developments that do not include genuine affordable housing. No more 1m luxury flats and stupid restrictions on parking. No more cosy relationships with developers. Insist on proper infrastructure, from sheltered housing and almshouses to schools and medical facilities. It is simply not fair that all this stuff is left to retired planners and lawyers and individuals whom have put in lots of work in their own time and at their own expense. Without them we would be in an even worse state. It's almost criminal that this council has done nothing for it's existing residents to protect the district or safeguard facilities. They cannot even deal with the already overcrowded local schools. We need a new broom, a ruddy big one. |
