Apologies Kath , I wasn't trying to embarrass anybody but I felt it worth mentioning that what was in itself a fairly nightmarish scenario was in fact an understatement. The current ward boundaries were drawn up prior to the 2002 local elections and I have always suspected that Syon was "the bit left in the middle" once Isleworth had been pencilled in from the border with Twickenham, and Brentford from the border with Chiswick. Ironically the rationale for those boundary changes was to create twenty wards within the London Borough of Hounslow which were of roughly equal size in population terms. Syon has already become something of a monster (and therefore under-represented). If even half of the suggested developments materialise it would surely demand the further attentions of the Boundary Commission. |
