I don't think that buying your house was the road to damnation Keith. We bought our because the council housing department were so incompetent and bloody awful (no change there then!) we just wanted to get out of their clutches and make our home what we wanted. But we can never forget our background nor would we want to, pity some of the ultra snobs on W4 don't feel the same. We haven't changed, we still pretty much have the same views, if anything we've gone more to the left as we've got older, I personally despise the Tories, and always will, but I can see that things must and do change. The fact is the government is still playing divide and rule only now the villains of the piece are anyone who claims benefits, that's why they spout so much claptrap trying to turn struggling working people against those who are less fortunate and reliant on the state helping. It's all sphericals of course and it makes for good sound bites but it's all lies but it does seem to have the desired effect. |
