> Closer examination shows that an aborted landing on the northern runway and a consequent go-round was probably the reason that BA8082 was pushed further south than usual and directed over Isleworth/Grove Park. Looking at Webtrak, it was an American Airlines 757 that slowed right down on final approach, causing the Cathay 777 behind it to carry out a go-around. That in turn meant that the Belfast flight couldn't turn left immediately after takeoff and so flew almost due east for several minutes before making its turn. |
