By the front page article there is a shortage of properties for tenants that are over crowed. There are two empty flats behind Alexandra Gardens in Chiswick that could be used to house council tenants. The reason they have been refurbished and to be sold off by Hounslow Council has been explained by a Hounslow councillor, but the length of time they have been empty, is denying someone in need a good home. These flats were finished early in 2009 but still remain empty, looks like the council cannot find a buyer in today’s recession. Why let them go to waste? Can’t they be passed over to Hounslow Homes to rent out to families who require larger premises? |
