Adam Sorry if I seem aggressive its not personal, but alcohol use causes sponginess of the brain, that is a fact. As for wealthy people taking drugs, yes they do, but more often its coke, not smack and they take it for pleasure not to numb their lives and escape their reality. When or if their is a problem and they become addicted, wealthy parents or a healthy bank balance allows for treatment and detox. The poor on the other hand can't afford such luxuries and if they run short of cash end up shivering, throwing up and shitting themselves uncontrollably and to stop the withdrawals end up stealing or selling their bodies, They can of course go to the doctors for methadone, a substitute more dangerous than smack itself that's why so many people die from it. I don't say legalising all drugs will end the problems of drug addiction but criminalising the sick isn't helping society or them is it, spending the huge amounts of money spent on criminalising people on treatment programs and education on the hard facts would. |
