I read in the Hounslow chronicle that Hounslow Council have refused planning permission for Wind turbines at the car parks for Tescos in Mogden and Syon on the grounds of visual intrusion, noise and energy produced, in a car park! Given the National and London Plan policies for renewable energy and the officers recommendation there turbines should be permitted. The link to the story is below http://www.hounslowchronicle.co.uk/west-london-news/local-hounslow-news/2009/06/17/tesco-wind-turbine-plan-gets-blown-out-109642-23906560/ Would the IBAC councillors care to explain why they don't want Tesco's to try and help the planet and use renewable energy when professional assessment had shown there would be little impact on residents. Would they treat Waitrose in the same way! |
